Sustainable and Affordable Exhibition Design, Management & Installation

  • Sustainable exhibition design: Economically sustainable: Clever use and re-use of materials and fabrication methods to give maximum effect for minimum cost. Environmentally sustainable: Use of recycled, sustainable and non-toxic materials wherever possible. Socially sustainable: Generating maximum visitor involvement and re-involvement throughout the life of the exhibition.
  • Development of visual/physical exhibition concept, drawings for funding applications, design of interior architecture, visitor flow, exhibition furniture, lighting, graphics, and object display, CAD design.
  • Professional project management: cost estimates, critical paths, sourcing materials and services, tender documents, supervision of trades-people, fabricators and installers. Exhibitions completed on time and to budget.
  • Design team coordination: I can bring together a team of specialist designers to complete your project; including architects, engineers, graphic designers, audio-visual designers, etc., or I can work in with other personnel of your choice.
  • On-site assistance with and supervision of installation.

Museum experience:

I have worked with museums since 1988. I have worked as an exhibition technician, exhibition manager, and exhibition designer. I have worked both in-house and on contract.

Museums that I have worked for include; The Army Museum Waiouru, The Akaroa Museum, The Govett Brewster Art Gallery, The Museum of New Zealand (Te Papa Tongarewa), The City Gallery Wellington, Lopdell House Gallery Titirangi, The Marlborough Museum.
